Before You Begin
ChatGPT Atlas is currently available exclusively for macOS. Before installation, ensure your system meets the requirements and that you have a ChatGPT account (free or paid) to access the browser's AI features.
Prerequisites
- Mac running macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
- At least 8GB of RAM (16GB recommended)
- 500MB of available storage space
- Active internet connection
- ChatGPT account (create one at chat.openai.com if needed)
Installation Process

Visit the Official Download Page
Navigate to OpenAI's official website and locate the Atlas download page. Always download from official sources to ensure security.

Open the DMG File

Drag the ChatGPT Atlas icon to your Applications folder. This copies the app to your system.

macOS may show a security prompt. Click "Open" to confirm you want to run the application.
Security Note
If macOS prevents Atlas from opening because it's from an "unidentified developer," you may need to right-click the app, select "Open," and then click "Open" in the dialog. This is a one-time step.
Initial Setup Wizard
When you first launch Atlas, you'll go through a brief setup process to configure the browser and connect your ChatGPT account.
